Community: SARA
A short documentary for Ellis Brigham about the volunteers of Severn Area Rescue Association. Honest interviews and observational filming, with the people and their purpose at the centre.
Overview
SARA's volunteers give up their time to rescue people on the River Severn and its estuary. Ellis Brigham wanted to tell their story without turning it into an action film.
So we kept it restrained: natural light, unobtrusive cameras, unhurried pacing, and interviews that let the volunteers speak for themselves about commitment, teamwork and what a call-out actually asks of them.
The result works as well for Ellis Brigham's audience as it does for SARA's: a film about community and the outdoors, told by the people who live it.
