Virtus follows Ed Jackson's climb of the Matterhorn. High-alpine filming, interviews and stills, with safety and story planned together from the start.
Overview
The Matterhorn doesn't give second takes. Rock, ice and weather that changes by the hour meant every shot had to be planned around the climb, not the other way round.
We built the production around expedition logistics: an experienced team, kit that could be carried, and a schedule set by the mountain. On the hill we filmed the ascent, the interviews and the stills together.
The film is about more than reaching the top. It's about the resilience and perspective behind the attempt, set against one of the most recognisable mountains in the world.
